Steam

After years of EA games releasing on Origin, the studio just recently began bringing its titles to Steam. Following the release of a couple dozen EA games such as Battlefield, Mass Effect, and Star Wars on Steam, the free to play battle royale is also joining the party. Just like other platforms, the Steam version of Apex Legends will be free to play.

Nintendo Switch

Whilst Fortnite has been available on Nintendo Switch for a long time now, Apex Legends was nowhere to be seen. EA hasn’t dived into any specifics about the game on the console, especially the elephant in the room which pertains to performance. Compared to other platforms, Fortnite doesn’t run that well on the Switch, so we might see a similar performance issue on the portable console for Apex Legends.

Lost Treasures Collection Event

In the meantime, Apex Legends players have a lot to look forward to this month. The Lost Treasures collection event goes live later this month with an exciting new limited time mode and a bundle of unique cosmetics.

The Armed and Dangerous Evolved LTM features a chaotic sniper and shotgun-only environment where players can only use Evo Shields. The stationary respawn beacons are replaced with new “mobile respawn beacons”, allowing teams to recover lost teammates once per match. There is a lot more visible in the trailer, such as a change to Lifeline’s drone ability, but that is all that was officially announced. The Lost Treasures Collection Event launches on June 23rd on all platforms for free.
