— Jon Prosser (@jon_prosser) June 18, 2020 While he doesn’t say much about it, it seems as if Apple may be separating the OS found on iPhones and iPad entirely. Last year, at WWDC, the company did so with the iPad OS. This year, perhaps they have a plan to change the look for iOS 14 (or iPhone OS 14) differently than they plan for iPad OS. The main comments on the post though are pretty confused. People believe there is no need to form a different name for the new iOS. And what of the iPod touch lineup. Would they not be getting any upgrades in the future? And if so, we cannot hope for Apple to form an iPod OS. Come on! at this point, it just sounds silly. Perhaps, coming back to our first point, the 14th iteration of Apple’s mobile software would significantly differentiate between the iPad and iPhones. Perhaps Apple would be focused on making it more of a full computer as they plan to with the recent mouse and keyboard support and the Apple Magic Keyboard.
