— Pine (@PineLeaks) June 29, 2020 According to the tweet, as developers dive into the code for the iOS 14 Beta version 1, we see that iPhone’s native video recording would be bumped up. It is a fact that Apple was one of the first companies to introduce video recording at 4K 60FPS, with its iPhone X. Now, we see that the company would be bringing it up a notch (not a pun) with some new optics. Apple would be giving users the option of recording up to 4K 240FPS with their phones. Not to mention, the native recording from the default, would be capped at 4K 120FPS. Now, we see what does this entail. Apple really needs to compete with the likes of Samsung and its S20 Ultra. The device captures video at 8K, albeit with some tradeoffs. Apple, by offering this may actually win at the smartphone video game once again. Not to mention, with the high framerate option, users would be able to get better quality slow-motion footage on their devices. This is all theoretical though. This is just the first developers beta and we may see it for sure in the final public beta which is quite close to the final release.
