Last week, a now-deleted tweet from Ubisoft’s head of communication for the middle east stated that Valhalla “won’t be the longest or biggest game in the series”. However, it seems that’s not that case, as a new statement from the studio claims the opposite. Julien Laferriere, the producer of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, said in a recent French interview that the new game has a map bigger than its predecessor. A translated transcript can be found on Reddit. “I would actually say in terms of range it is probably a bit larger than Assassins Creed Odyssey,” says Laferriere. “I do not have the exact figures at this stage, but we have not only created the whole country, which is in this case England, but also to a good part of Norway too. There are other secret worlds, which I can not speak about today, which contributed to the size of the game. It’s not a small game, it is a game which is clearly ambitious, which will offer many many hours of gameplay for the players.” With this statement, fans of the series are confused about which statement is true. From what I can gather, it seems that Ubisoft is holding off on announcing specific details until the later stages of development. Logically speaking, a smaller map size is nothing to cause a fuss over, but the confusion expressed by the community is as a result of Ubisoft’s conflicting statements. Whatever the case is, we’ll find out Valhalla’s true map size in the coming months. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is launching this holiday on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and the next-generation PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
