ASUS X670/X670E Pricing
Today’s leak comes from Zed__Wang who shared a potential internal pricing chart for ASUS’s next-Gen AM5 motherboards. The chart is actually in Chinese, however, on translation the first column represents the chipsets. The second is the model number. The last 3 show the ‘Recommended Distribution Price’ , ‘MSRP’ & ‘Media Price’ respectively. Do bear in mind, ‘Media Pricing’ may refer to the marketing price specified by ASUS. Although, it is actually higher than the MSRP. The pricing in USD comes out to be as follows:
ROG Crosshair X670E EXTREME
Lets get to the price comparisons, the ROG CROSSHAIR X670E EXTREME, is the highest end X670E offering from ASUS this year. Be ready to break your piggy bank because this one costs $1260 ($1400 marketing price). This is a whopping 50% higher than last-Gen’s ROG Crosshair VIII Extreme.
ROG STRIX X670-E GAMING WIFI
A budget friendly offer allowing for more gamers to switch to AM5, the ROG STRIX X670-E GAMING WIFI comes in at $630 ($700 marketing price). In comparison to last-Gen, it is a whopping 2x more expensive.
PRIME X670-P
The lowest end offering from ASUS is the PRIME X670-P priced at $378 ($448). This is still almost 2x more expensive than last-Gen’s PRIME X570-Pro.
Conclusion
All in all, the AM5 X670 motherboards do cost a fortune and gamers on a budget should wait for the B650/B650E series if they want to upgrade. Of course, this paired with the new but expensive DDR5 memory makes AM5 unfavourable ‘for now’. However, AMD plans to support this platform for the next 5 years so being an early adopter, this really is a good investment.
