CDPR announced the delay today on Twitter, saying that they’re willing to “take the heat” for the decision that will likely upset many fans. The studio further adds that the game is “finished both content and gameplay-wise”, but they need additional time to “iron out” things. “The quests, the cutscenes the skills and items; all the adventures Night City has to offer – it’s all there,” reads the announcement. “But with an abundance of content and complex systems interweaving with each other, we need to properly go through everything, balance game mechanics and fix a lot of bugs”. CDPR notes that journalists have started receiving review copies of the game, and their impressions will be revealed later this month on June 25th. Hopefully, the extra development time will allow the studio to polish and refine what seems to the most anticipated game of the year.
