An early, work-in-progress version of a new mod for Cyberpunk 2077 that changes the camera to a third-person view is available now. Not a lot of time has passed since the game’s release, so don’t expect the mod to be free of bugs. Playing through the entirety of the game with this mod installed is not possible right now, but future upgrades and patches may change that. Although the majority of Cyberpunk 2077 was designed to be played from a first-person perspective, it is still quite interesting to experience parts of the game from a different view. For a work-in-progress, the mod is actually pretty good. Setting aside complex gameplay mechanics such as combat and cutscenes, the basic movement animations are fluid and normal-looking. By moving too fast, however, you risk breaking the mod. Another important thing to note is that the mod replaces V’s player model with an NPC’s since Cyberpunk 2077 does not contain complete animations for V. Aside from the janky movement, there seems to be a handful of bugs with the mod right now, ranging from small issues like the player’s head disappearing to the game outright crashing when pressing a button. Hopefully though, these issues will be ironed out in the future. Installation of the Cyberpunk 2077 third-person perspective mod is a tricky process. You’ll need to install Cyber Engine Tweaks and Cheat Engine is also required to get it up and running.
