Dolby Vision will be available to Dolby Vision-enabled TVs. Xbox claims that improvements such as “incredible brightness, color, contrast, and detail” and “..epic worlds – such as lush rainforests or neon futuristic cities – are brought to life in more vivid color.” It has also been added that this feature is here to stay as Dolby and Xbox are both working closely with developers so that this feature can be integrated as seamlessly as possible into each player’s experience, whether by using-the built in features of the Xbox platform or implementing it directly into the game’s engine. Also, “thousands of existing games” with HDR10 and Auto HDR supporting games will also be able to utilize the Dolby Vision feature. Lastly, other next-gen features are made sure to work seamlessly and utilize Dolby Vision such as “DirectX Raytracing, automatic low-latency mode (ALLM), Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), and up to 120FPS depending on the capabilities of your TV”. Microsoft and Dolby are still working with TV manufacturers to make sure that firmware is updated to support these features. Other details in the article include a simple guide on how to make sure that players have the necessary hardware and how to set it up so that they can get the most out of this brand new feature. Currently, Dolby Vision and Atmos are supported by these titles: F1 2021, Psychonauts 2, Microsoft Flight Simulator, Gears 5, Immortals Fenyx Rising, Tom Clancy’s The Division 2, Borderlands 3, Metro Exodus, and more. We should expect a much more comprehensive list or announcements from game developers soon if a specific title will be supporting this feature.
