Official renders of the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 have leaked. Both leaks come at the exact same time and were discovered by Ben Geskin on Twitter. However, the sources for both are different so let’s break it all down starting with the next-gen Z Fold.

Galaxy Z Fold 4

Compared to the current-gen Galaxy Z Fold 3, the Fold 4 looks almost identical. The source, Pricebaba Daily, mentions that the main goal for this device was to improve upon the durability and water-resistance while relying on the same foundation laid by its predecessors.  The device is said to come in three colors—Beige, Black, and Grey. On the back, it features a triple-camera setup in a stacked orientation along with the LED flash. The primary shooter is 50 megapixels, there’s also a 12MP ultra-wide and a 10MP telephoto lens with 3x zoom in that camera bump. Moving to the insides, there’s a 7.6-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The secondary display on the front measures in at 6.2-inches and will also feature 120Hz refresh rate along with a HD+ resolution. Both displays are AMOLED so expect deep blacks and bright whites with punchy colors; basically a flagship Samsung screen with no holds barred. Under the hood, there’s an in-display fingerprint scanner and an under-display selfie camera. That front camera will likely be the focus of most reviews as Samsung’s current implementation of such tech inside the Galaxy Z Fold 3 leaves a lot to be desired. Therefore, it’s the area Samsung could improve on the most and provide a true generational upgrade. Add slideshow Interestingly, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 is rumored to be less costly than the Fold 3. Current reports suggest that Samsung is planning a 128GB entry-level option to achieve a less expensive starting price. Despite that, the phone is still a fully-fledged flagship powered by the new Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 from Qualcomm.

Galaxy Z Flip 4

The second leaked render comes from the good ol’ MySmartPrice. This device, just like Samsung’s other foldables, is also mostly an incremental upgrade over its predecessor, though it definitely does offer some interesting improvements. For starters, the cover display on the back of the phone is considerably bigger this time around.  The Galaxy Z Flip 3 featured a 1.9-inch AMOLED screen, the Flip 4 increases that to 2.1-inches. That might not sound like a lot, but for a screen this small, it will be a noticeable difference. Next to the secondary display is the dual-camera setup with a 12MP primary lens and a 12MP ultrawide camera. You’ll also see the usual array of mics, speaker, and the Type-C port on the bottom of the phone. Samsung has decided to make the Flip 4 a little bit more colorful than its cousin with 4 color options—Blue, Black, Cream, and Lavender. On the front, the main screen is a Full HD+ 6.7-inch AMOLED with a punch-hole cutout (no under-display fanciness) to house the selfie camera, which is a 10MP shooter. Even though the source doesn’t mention it, the front display will most likely be a 120Hz panel.  Under the hood, the Flip 4 will come with a 3,700 mAh battery with 25W fast charging and some sort of wireless charging, too. As for the main hardware, expect the latest-and-greatest Qualcomm 8+ Gen 1 SoC along with 8GB of RAM, and up to 256GB of internal storage with no MicroSD card slot. Pricing for the clamshell foldable isn’t known as of now, so don’t expect it to be cheaper than last-gen.  As mentioned before, both phones are supposed to be unveiled at the Galaxy Unpacked event but some leaks claim that the Fold 4 will go on sale the same day, while the fate of the Flip 4 is a bit up in the air. We’ll be sure to update this article if anything comes up. Till then, check out our previous coverage of real-life leaked images of the Galaxy Flip 4.
