How to Fix Asana in Google Chrome?
1: Update Google Chrome to Latest Build
Asana doesn’t support outdated Google Chrome versions. If you are using an outdated Chrome version but Asana’s version is the latest one, it will fail to work in Chrome. In that case, updating Google Chrome to the latest build may solve the problem.
2: Switch to Another Network
ISPs use different technologies & protocols to restrict access to different features and network services which can cause Asana from working in Chrome. It will be a good idea to switch to another network (temporarily) to see if the ISP is the root cause of the problem.
3: Change Date and Time Preferences
If your system’s date/time is not correct or is not configured properly, then Chrome triggers a kind of protection that can stop the entire browser or some specific applications (like Asana) from working. In that case, turning off the automatic date and time and correcting the time may solve the problem.
4: Temporarily Turn Off Antivirus and Firewall
Antivirus & Firewall help protect the user’s system from threats and malicious attack but sometimes these applications create hurdles in the genuine operation of the software. That can also stop Asana from working in Chrome, in that case, disabling Anti-virus and firewall may solve the problem. Warning: Change your antivirus/firewall settings at your own risk as this step will make the user’s system vulnerable to fraudulent, viral or malicious attacks. should be sufficient or otherwise replace these applications with non-conflicting ones.
5: Clear Chrome’s Cache
Your web browser keeps pieces of the website pages and stores them on your system’s local drive, called the browser cache. The cache of a website does not change from every user visit. If the cache has corrupted data or has conflicting contents, then it can cause Asana to not work in Chrome. In that case, clearing the web browser’s cache can solve the problem. For illustration purposes, we will use Google Chrome, you may use instructions specific to your system’s web browser.
6: Disable Chrome’s Extensions
Chrome uses 3rd-party extensions to improve its functionality and add new features. Incompatible extensions may break the functionality of Asana and thus stop Asana from working in Chrome. In that case, disabling all extensions of Chrome may solve the problem. Now check if you can access Asana in Chrome. If Asana has started to work fine, then enable each extension one by one to single out the problematic Extension. After problematic Extension is identified, update it and then check if it has started to work fine with Asana.
7: Use Asana in Incognito Mode of Chrome
Asana can also stop working in Google Chrome because of issues with the conflicting user data, login credentials or cookies stored on your PC. Chrome has built-in functionality called incognito mode in which Chrome operates without using any of this data. So, opening Asana in Chrome’s incognito mode may solve the problem. Now check if you can access Asana without any problem.
8: Reset Chrome to Factory Defaults
Wrong browser configuration or corrupt browser installation files can cause Asana to stop working in Chrome. This error can be the result of the Google Chrome flag configuration or something similar. In that case, resetting Chrome to the factory defaults can solve the problem. Do note that this will delete all the user data stored in Chrome and it will revert to the state when it was installed freshly. Now check if you can access Asana in Chrome. Hopefully, you can use Asana in Chrome without any problem. If you are still having a problem accessing Asana then uninstall and reinstall Chrome and then access Asana.
