Dead iPhone Symptoms

Before we jump into the procedure for switching on your iPhone, check if your device shows some of the following symptoms. That’s how you will know that you are on the right track.

You are pressing the home button, but it won’t turn on.Your iPhone works only when connected to a charger.Your device shows a black screen, without any information on it.If you press the home or power button, you see the Apple logo on the screen for a couple of seconds, and then, it turns off again.“Connect to iTunes” message pops up, and if you connect it, nothing happens.

Step 1: Forced Restart

If you have an iPhone 6S/6S Plus or below, including all the iPod Touches and iPads, press and hold Power and Home simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. If you have iPhone 7/7 Plus, push and hold both, Volume Down and Power. Keep them pressed at least 10 seconds simultaneously until the Apple logo appears on the screen. For iPhone X, iPhone 8, and 8 Plus the procedure is a little different. Press and quickly release Volume Up. Then, press and quickly release Volume Down. Now, push and hold Power until you see the Apple logo on the screen.

After you successfully finished this step, check if your device is back to normal.

Step 2: Plug-In

If your iPhone doesn’t show any signs of improvement after you perform the Step 1, you can try the following procedure.
