The external devices might be transferring data or getting powered by your computer. You should try unplugging all the devices from your computers such as Xbox, PS or Xbox controllers etc. Restart your computer and test if this solution solved the problem.

Solution 3: Resetting Power Management Settings

Every PC has a power plan available which directs it what to do for example the screen saver time might be different when your computer is plugged into power as compared to when it is running in battery. There are a lot of options which can be edited separately on each power plan. It is possible that the settings for the screen saver are changed in your power plan along with other modifications. We can try restoring all power settings to default and check if the problem at hand gets fixed.

You can also navigate to the power options by pressing Windows + R to launch the Run application and typing “control panel”. Once in the control panel, click on “power options” if your control panel is in icon mode or search for power options at the search bar present at the top right side of the screen. Open the first result which comes forward.

We can check if your screen saver utility works by navigating to the screen saver page and checking it manually.

If your Windows is updated to the latest version, you might now find the settings of the screen saver on the default location as in the past. Follow the steps below.

Solution 5: Changing your Network Adapter Wake-Up Settings

Most of the devices connected to your machine have the authority to keep your computer awake on their own.
