As it turns out, Halo Infinite multiplayer has been out for a while now, way earlier than the official release date thanks to the Xbox 20th anniversary. While the game has been performing well overall, there are obviously a good amount of users that have been experiencing different issues with the game like the arbiter.dll not found error and more. Like we have mentioned previously, the reason your game is crashing can vary as there are a number of things that could be a factor. To make this easier and give you a better understanding, let us first go through the possible list of causes before we jump into the different methods that will help you resolve the issue.  Third – Party Software —  The first obvious reason that can cause Halo Infinite to crash is the interference of a third-party software running in the background. This is pretty common and there have been several reports of this happening which includes apps like Razer Synapse as well as features like Discord overlay. Graphics Drivers — Another reason that can possibly cause the game to crash is an issue with the graphics drivers. NVIDIA recently released an update to their graphics drivers for Halo Infinite so if your drivers are not up to date, it is very likely for you to face crashes. Overclocked Components — As it turns out, one of the reasons that Halo Infinite could crash is overclocking. If you have overclocked any components on your system, especially your graphics card, that is very likely to cause the game to crash. In such a scenario, you will have to remove the overclock to resolve the problem. High Resolution Textures Pack —  For some users, the problem seems to be caused due to the high resolution texture pack being installed by default on their systems. This can happen usually when the amount of VRAM is limited on your GPU. If this case is applicable to you, you will have to install the game without the high res texture pack. Now that we have gone through the possible list of causes, let us get started and show you how you can stop the game from crashing randomly. So, without further ado, let us jump right into it.

Close Discord

As it turns out, the first thing that you should try in order to circumvent the problem is to close down Discord if it is running in the background. As per some user reports, Discord has been causing the game to crash in several instances. Therefore, if you have Discord running in the background while you are playing, exit it and then run the game.  In case the problem is no longer when you close Discord, then the very likely cause could be in game overlay. In such a scenario, you will have to turn that off. To do that, follow the instructions given down below:

Close Razer Synapse

Another application that has been notoriously causing Halo Infinite to crash is the Razer Synapse. As it turns out, Razer Synapse is essentially a software that allows you to control any Razer products that you might be using, from keyboards to mice and more. As per user reports, the issue occurs when Halo Infinite sends a new pattern to a Razer keyboard which causes the game to crash.  If this case is applicable to you, you will have to close out Razer Synapse and any other associated services in the background and then try playing the game to see if the crash still occurs. In case the problem is still there, move on to the next method down below.

Turn off Async Compute Functionality

Async Compute is a function in Halo Infinite that lets graphics cards that are based on AMD’s GCN to execute compute and graphics workload at the same time. While this can lead to a performance boost, in some cases, it can end up causing issues as well if the GPU is not able to handle it properly. In such a scenario, you will have to disable the feature. To do this, follow the instructions given down below:

Update Graphics Drivers

Like we have mentioned, having obsolete graphics drivers can also cause the game to crash. This is evident as the graphics drivers are essentially used to communicate with the graphics card installed. As such, updating your graphics drivers especially for newer titles is really important.  Therefore, if your graphics drivers are not up to date, you will need to update them. Follow the instructions given down below to do this:

Remove Overclock

As it turns out, overclocking your components can get you an easy performance boost. However, on some games, especially on newer ones, overclocking can cause various games to crash and this is not something new. This has been reported by some users who were able to resolve the said issue by removing the applied overclocks. Therefore, while overclocking can be really helpful if you know how to do it properly, there are some cons to it.  Thus, if this case is applicable to you, you are going to need to remove the overclocking and go with the base frequencies to see if that resolves the issue.

Uninstall High Resolution Texture Pack

Another reason that seems to be causing the problem for multiple users is the High Resolution Texture pack that comes with the game. As it turns out, this is a DLC that further improves the textures in the game which is why most people are fine with installing it. In addition to that, most don’t even realize that this is installed by default when they download the game. Since this is a DLC, you can opt to not install it from the properties menu of the game on Steam. To uninstall the high resolution texture pack, follow the instructions given down below:
