The first phase of the beta will be only for PS4 users. From October 8 to October 8, only players who pre-ordered the game will get early access to the beta. The following days, October 10 and 12, it’ll be free for the entire PS4 community. Starting from October 15 to October 19, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War beta will also be available for Xbox and PC users. Similar to the PS4 beta, the first two days will be exclusive to those who pre-ordered the game. Afterward, from October 17 to October 19, the true open beta will start, allowing everyone to play it for free. The open beta will feature cross-play, with a list of modes will being accessible. These modes include the traditional black ops 6v6, 12v12 combined arms, and a newly created 40 player mode, that Activision describes as Fireteam: Dirty Bomb.
